Mr. Long and Lean

Liam had his one month check-up and he is a growing boy!  He has gained 3 pounds since we left the hospital and has grown 2 inches!  His official weigh-in was 11 pounds 7 ounces and he is 23 3/8 inches long making him in the 90 percentile for both.  Dr. Vu also commented on how strong he is, and no, Bryan is not having him pumping iron...yet :)
He has the cutest little lips!

Liam: 1 Month

Our baby boy is one month old!  It is hard to believe that one month has already come and gone.  Liam has had a pretty easy first month of life which means that Bryan and I have too.  He has taken to breastfeeding like a champ and will drink out of a bottle without any hesitation when Bryan wants to feed him with pumped milk.  Within his first week of life he had already started to roll over on his side and just recently he rolled from his side to his belly.  This week he started to smile,  hopefully we'll be able to get some good photos of his cute little smile soon!  Also, he seems to like Adele, when her songs come on he relaxes and passes out.
Since he was a bigger baby, over 9 pounds at birth, he did not fit into any newborn clothes or newborn diapers.  So, he wears 0-3 and 3 month clothing and size 1 diapers.  Liam loves bath time mainly because he likes to be naked and then get massages, he is a male after all.
Grandma Berkley and I took some measurements of him to see how much he has grown and from our unofficial measurements he is now 11 pounds, 23 1/4 inches long, and his head circumference is around 15 inches long. We will see how accurate those measurements are next week at our doctors appointment.  And, the best news for last is that he is becoming a great sleeper at night, usually waking up to eat at 10:00pm, 2:00am, and 5:30/6:00am and then falling back to sleep until 9:00 or 10:00.

Liam went to his first wedding on May 19th to celebrate Julia and Mitch's marriage.  He was fantastic and slept through the entire ceremony and reception only waking up once to eat and for a diaper change.

Life with Liam

Liam entered his third week of life this week and these past three weeks have sure been busy.  We have had many visitors all wanting to see the little man, who all agree he looks more like his Daddy than me.  We are all adjusting to life with a newborn that is a night-owl and who would rather be snuggling with Mommy or Daddy rather than be alone in his crib.  But, he still does well in his crib during nap-time and morning sleeping from 6am-10:00.  Although I am up a couple times a night feeding him I have adjusted to the sleep schedule too.
My recovery was slow going, but finally over Mothers Day Weekend I started to feel semi-normal again.  Up until that point I really had not left the couch/bed for three weeks.  Being able to enjoy the day made my first Mothers Day even more special.  And, Liam is already a great gift-giver, he takes after Bryan, I love my Pearls and he bought me a beautiful set.
This week we started running errands and Liam has done really well and sleeps the entire time, but just in case I have a bottle of milk pumped and ready to go if Liam decides to have a meltdown, so far we have not had to use it.

We have taken plenty of pictures lately, unfortunately my computer is running out of memory and will not upload them all!
He might not be a K-State fan after all
