Liam: 2 Months

Our little man is now 2 months old.  The last two months have gone by incredibly fast and he has changed so much in such a little amount of time.  Liam and I have spent A LOT of quality time together the past 8 weeks and now it is my time to go back to work...but only part-time and while I am at work Bryan will be watching him so now they can have some fun together!  Bryan and I have been so lucky that Liam has been such an easy going baby.  As of two months old he....

• Weighs 13 pounds 4 ounces - 85th percentile
• 24 inches long - 85th percentile
• Wears size 2 diapers and has been since the beginning of June!
• Is wearing 3 month and 3-6 month clothing. In his footed pajamas he wears 6 month since he is a long boy.
• Is always moving his arms and legs around.  Is grasping and holding on to objects when he can get ahold of them, and has started to pinch my arms when he is eating.
• Does well on tummy time, but likes tummy time best if he can be on Mommy or Daddy rather than the play mat.
• Loves the play mat, bouncy chair, car-seat, bath time....pretty much he seems to like everything except having to wait to eat!
• Loves mirrors, especially looking at himself (just like Bryan) :)
• Notices Sammy and Zoey especially when one of then is licking his hands, feet, or head.
• Smiles a lot, especially at Mommy and Daddy.  He will usually smile at anyone that entertains him enough...even the Doctor got a couple smiles out him.  Occasionally we get a giggle too.
• Has started to have a bedtime routine, at least for the past week we have established one! He gets a relaxing bath around 8:00/8:30 every night, followed by a lavender chamomile massage, and then he is asleep in his crib by 9:30.  Then wakes up around 3:00am to eat and usually falls asleep while he is eating and then is back up at 6:30am.  
• Is happiest in the morning, when he sees me first thing in the morning he has the biggest smile on his face, it is so adorable....the best part of my day for sure!
• Is sleeping in his own room in the crib all night long. 
• Has started to sit up in the BUMBO, but still wobbles bit.
• Started to put his fingers in his mouth.
• So far he has not been sick, lets hope that lasts!
• Is still breastfeeding and will drink from a bottle usually with no problem, but gets mad if he has to wait for the bottle to warm up.

Hearing Check

Our little Liam unfortunately failed his hearing test in his right ear when tested right after birth.  So, this week we made a trip to Children's Mercy.  I was dreading this because I thought it was going to be at the main hospital and I did not want to see sick children.  Luckily though it was not at the main hospital and I only saw a couple children that were all at the Hearing and Speech clinic.  Bryan and I were not really concerned with his hearing because he seemed to always react to noises.  But, just to be safe the doctor ordered this test anyways. After over an hour of testing Liam passed.  He slept mostly all of the appointment which was good because he had to be asleep during the first 30-45 minutes of the test.  For the sleeping portion, the audiologist attached an electrode on his forehead and put probes in both his ears, this was to test low, middle, and high range noises bouncing around, I guess....I will find out all about the testing when I get the report in the mail.

Roadtrip

This weekend was full of travel time for Liam to meet most of his Dinkel, Siler, and Berkley family members.  This was the first time out of Olathe and it was just the two of us and he was an awesome traveler, he slept the whole time in the car.  We did not take too many pictures during our visits, but we did have a photo op when we got back home.  I know all moms say their babies are the cutest, but really Liam is the cutest! :) He makes so many weird little expressions and sounds now that it cracks Bryan and me up, his personality is really starting to show!

Randy is 30!

This summer brings upon the 30's for many of us and the first to hit the big 3-0 was Randy!  To celebrate this momentous occasion Randy's sister and brother-in-law purchased a suite for the T-Bones baseball game.  It was pretty awesome watching a game in a suite and if I could watch every sporting event in a suite I would most definitely go to more games, they are so convenient!  Besides being Randy's birthday this was also Liam's first baseball game and what better way to have your first baseball experience than in a suite....although he slept the entire time and will not remember anything anyways, but at least we were able to get a couple pictures.  Next to turn 30: Josh, Emily, Rainbow, Amanda, and of course Me!
