Liam: 6 month update

Our tough little guy had his 6 month well baby appointment today which included a round of shots. He was his normal self, flirting with the doctor and nurses, that was until he got his shots and then he hated the nurses, only briefly though.  He was over the pain 30 seconds later.  He also caught his first cold Friday, so the weekend was full of snot and lack of sleep, especially last night, so I took the day off and stayed with him today.
His measurements were:

  • 18.5 lbs --61%tile
  • 27.5 inches --85%tile
  • 17 1/4 head circ. --65%tile

Tall and skinny like his Daddy!

Happy Birthday!

Hopefully Mom is not bashful about her age, because today she is 60!  Her way of celebrating is hiking the Grand Canyon, joining her will be Mike, Ashley, Alex, and Joy. The Morris' will not be joining the hikers, although our thoughts will be with them, we will be at home in the coziness of our warm house! We look forward to hearing about the stories that will come out of that trip! Not too sure if Ashley and Alex are really prepared for the physical exertion that they are soon to face. Anyways, as usual, I forgot to mail Mom's birthday card before they left so I thought the next best thing would be to take pictures of the card, with Liam of course. Babies make simple pictures so much better!
Grandma has a birthday!?
Take a bite outta 60 Grandma!

Liam: 6 months

It seems like it was just yesterday we were welcoming Liam into the world and now, 6 months later, he is sitting up on his own, blowing bubbles, talking in baby babble, and fills our house with laughter. He makes us so proud and we finally realize what being  parents is all about! Its the best feeling in the world and we cannot imagine our world without him! He is truly amazing!  On another note, we were able to start Miss Amy's Daycare October 1st, much earlier than originally planned and we love having him go there.  He has so much fun and loves being in daycare with Kinley!  As of six months he....
  • Weighs around 19 pounds (dr. appt is next week)
  • Is around 27 inches long (dr. appt is next week for official measurements)
  • Wears size 3 diapers
  • Is wearing 9 month and 12 month clothes
  • Can sit
  • Has Teeth...yes teeth, not a tooth!
  • Gives hugs and kisses when he sees Mommy and Daddy
  • Is reaching for us
  • Loves to eat his homemade 'solid' food.  He has tried: Apples, Bananas, Avocados, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans and has had some some combinations of the fruit and veggies. So far he does not seem to be a picky eater, which is fantastic!
  • Is a chatterbox and loves to hear the sound of his voice
  • Knows Mommy and Daddy's voice if they walk into a room and start talking he immediately turns to find us
  • Loves the doorway jumper, walker, exersaucer, floor...pretty much everything
  • Is rolling everywhere and is trying to crawl but has not figured it out yet. Our blankets on the floor no longer can contain him.

  • Blows bubbles/spits
First KSU-KU football game.  KSU won!
Figured out how to sit
Cut his first two teeth September 24th and 25th
Loves the jumper...and check out those teeth!
Grabbed Bryan's pen out of his hands!

Monthly play date with his girlfriends

Face Mask violation?

Watched his first Presidential Debates....dumbfounded just like Mommy!

All Smiles

It seems like everyday brings about new expressions and sounds from Liam.  He is so vocal and when he is playing he gets even more excited and becomes a chatterbox.  Along with vocally expressing himself he also has the most expressive facial expressions....I have previously done another post about his expressions, but new things happen every day so here is another post about my adorable little guy and his ever developing personality. He is such a happy baby and his smile is so big and cute and as Laura Easterday pointed out, he is going to be very hard to say 'no' to as he gets older!
He has such pretty Hazel eyes, just like his Aunt Ashley
So happy, loves his jumper...and check out those TEETH!
Talking up a storm
Admiring his Mommy  :)
"I have had enough" look
"What are you looking at?"

Sitting Pretty

Another milestone has been checked off the list, Liam can sit!  He has been able to sit with assistance for awhile now and finally he mastered sitting by himself and he is pretty proud of himself!  He has also started reaching for us when we go to pick him up, which I absolutely love!
And some more pictures of my adorable little guy!

Wildcats

This weekend marked the first KSU v KU showdown of the football season and the first football game that Liam has gone to.  It ended up being rather chilly Saturday, which we were not expecting and did not have warm enough clothing for Liam....So, Mom and Bryan headed to Cats Closet before the game and stocked up on KSU gear for Liam: stocking caps, mittens, pants, and a jacket.  He was layerd in Cats gear, that is for sure!  And, he had a KSU fleece blanket that Mom made, which kept us both warm during the game.  KSU won, of course.

Teething Time

The time has come, Liam has started to get teeth! September 24th, one day after turning five months old, marked the milestone of him cutting his first tooth!  The only sign that he was teething was his constant and heavy drooling.  We lucked out, he did not act like teething bothered him at all. And, within the first week of getting his first tooth his second showed up!  Our little Liam is growing up so fast!
With two teeth this is not the best idea!
Such a happy drooling baby

Solids time

We have been been feeding Liam solids off and on since he was four months old.  But, just recently he has finally started enjoying food and wanting more so he gets 'solids' now on a daily basis.  I am making his food and freezing it, inspiration from this blog,  and so far he has tried bananas, avocados, and apples with apples being his favorite.  Next up sweet potatoes and squash!
Apples anyone?
