Life as we know it

We have finally welcomed the arrival of our precious little boy, Liam James Morris, on April 23rd, 2012.  He weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs 1 oz, is 21 inches long, and has a head full of dark brown hair.  At my last doctors appointment last week my blood pressure had started to get a little high, so Dr. Estrada offered to induce me April 23rd if I had not yet gone into labor.  So, because I was ready for this pregnancy to be over that sounded fantastic.
Early Monday morning Bryan and I went to the hospital and after being checked by the doctor she said I was already dilated to a 3 and 90-100% effaced, so no need to induce after all.  After she broke my water, we played the waiting game.  I elected to get my epidural around noon because getting checked every hour was getting way too painful.  Around 7:00pm the time had come, it took me less than 30 minutes to get him pushed out and when he finally was out no one could believe how big he was, especially me! I still cannot believe a nine pound baby was inside me and that I was able to get him out without requiring a c-section...
Bryan and I cannot imagine our lives without Liam in it, no words can express the love we have for our four day old little boy, life as we knew it is nothing compared to what we have now.  I can just sit and look at him all day long.  He has done so much in such a short amount of time:  he has already lost his umbilical cord, had his first bath, slept the entire night in his crib, and is doing great at nursing.
